Keller Fountain, 2009
This project was a product of boredom, and wanting to walk around the city and take some pictures. These are all shot on film, and likely with my RZ67, so medium format film—likely Delta 100, which is my go-to.
A lot of these are the Keller Fountain in downtown Portland, but there are some others. I don’t know all the names of the fountains, really.
I wanted to play with the slower shutter speeds and find a little bit of an exotic beauty in water fountains, which can be so mundane—something you see every day as you walk past on your way to work, or just during the day. By doing the slower shutter speed and the blurring of the water, again, trying to find a timeless element to something that is really mundane, and some new angles.
I had thought of doing more fountains and I may add to this project over time.
